Monmouth made it two straight over Carroll with a 64-63 win at Glennie Gym. The Pioneers nearly avenged their loss to the Scots last week, but Monmouth’s Kenny Foster hit two free throws with 1.1 seconds left and Klynton Bolinger deflected the ensuing inbounds pass to preserve the win. Trailing by four in the final two minutes, Monmouth’s Brent Burrows buried a three and then converted a steal and layup to give Monmouth a 62-61 lead. The Pioneers regained the lead on a bucket inside with a minute left before the Scots got their final possession with 18 seconds remaining. After a timeout, Foster was fouled in the act of shooting and knocked down both free throws for the win. Foster finished with a game-high 21 points and Burrows added a dozen. |
