The Monmouth College Fighting Scots football team find themselves ranked in the D3football.com preseason top 25, which was released Thursday morning.  The Scots are ranked 17th in the first poll, in which votes are submitted by coaches, sports information directors, and members of the media.  The top ranked team is defending national champion, Wisconsin-Whitewater, receiving 20 of 25 first place votes.  Mount Union is ranked second, and received the other five first place votes.  Wesley is ranked third, followed by Linfield, and St. Thomas.  The Scots open the season on Saturday September 4th at Wartburg.
