Monday, 30 January 2012 12:48

A Western Illinois University student was killed in a single-car accident on the Raritan Blacktop early Friday on 40th Avenue in Warren County. Illinois State Police report, 20-year-old Ali Alfaraj, a native of Saudi Arabia, was driving eastbound when he appeared to lose control on the icy blacktop. Alfaraj's car reportedly skidded into the north ditch, causing it to roll several times in a nearby field. He was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected from the car. There was no indication of alcohol. The Warren County Sheriffs Department, Roseville Fire Department and Warren County Coroner all responded to the scene. The accident was discovered about 5:13 a.m., but police are unsure of when it actually happened.
