Henderson County Sheriff Steven P. Haynes announces that scholarship applications are now available at the Sheriff’s Office. Students wishing to pursue a higher education during the 2012/2013 academic year are encouraged to pick up applications. The $500 scholarship is to be applied to tuition, books and fees only. The student must be enrolled full-time at a certified institution of higher learning within the State of Illinois. To be qualified for the applications applicants must be permanent Illinois residents, scholarships must be utilized at a State of Illinois institutions of higher learning and students must be enrolled as a full-time student during the 2012/2013 school year, excluding summer session. Students must complete the applications, answer the essay question and return all documentation to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office on or by March 12, 2012. Henderson County Sheriff’s Office is entitled to one scholarship through the Illinois Sheriffs’ Association. One scholarship is given for every 500 Associate Members in the county with a minimum of one per county. Applications may be picked up at anytime at the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office or may download the application off the internet @ www.ilsheriff.org
