In a little over a month, voters in the Avon, Abingdon and the Bushnhel-Prairie City school districts will decide if the districts will consolidate or not. In 2003, a feasibility study was conducted as to whether the Avon, Bushnell-Prairie City, Abingdon and the Spoon River Valley school districts should reorganize. None of the districts took any action on the matter at that time. But it 2010 school board members and residents from the Abingdon, Avon and Bushnell-Prairie City districts met to view the Midwest School Consultants' consolidation study. In March, residents from the three school districts will decide on whether to consolodate or not during the Spring Primary.
