| Slick Roads Cause Abingdon Man's Car to Strike Train |

An Abingdon man is considering himself fortunate after his car struck a train early Saturday morning north of Abingdon. Knox County Sheriff's deputies say that a vehicle driven by David Tabb struck the train at about 2:30 Saturday morning at Knox Highway 5 and the BNSF rail line. Deputies say that the accident occurred because of slick road conditions. No injuries were reported as a result of the accident. The front end of the car suffered heavy damage. Also a ladder on the train car that was struck was bent.
