Chicago Mayor Richard Daley Not Running For Re-Election
Wednesday, 08 September 2010 06:42

(Chicago, IL)  --  Chicago Mayor Richard Daley has announced he will not seek another term in office.  He called his decision "personal," and declined to give any more specifics.  The 68-year-old has been mayor since 1989 after previously serving as Cook County State's Attorney and an Illinois State Senator.  The announcement comes after reports from earlier this year that White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel was interested in becoming Chicago Mayor.
