(Springfield, IL) -- An Illinois think-tank is taking to the road to promote their ideas for helping the state dig out of its financial mess. The Illinois Policy Institute will visit several cities over the next 90 days as part of their 'Turnaround Tour.' CEO John Tillman says their plan basically calls for cutting state spending without raising taxes. The group held their first meeting in Decatur last night, with stops in Springfield, Chicagoland and Metro-East to follow. Governor Pat Quinn has continued to push for a one-percent income tax increase to fund education. Many believe lawmakers will sign off on that plan after the November election.
